Shri Jashiben- Centenary Salutation

 

 

Ninety-ninth birthday of Sarasvati Vidyamandal’s Matriarch Shri Jashiben Nayak was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm by entire Sarasvati fraternity on 18th November 2017. Respected Jashiben completing 99 years and entering 100th year is a memorable event for every member of the Sarasvati family.

Jashiben Centenary Salutation program was attended by trustees of Sarasvati Vidyamandal Trust, members of governing council, past principals, teachers and students as well as students of all seven schools of Vidyamandal. The program began with an invocation by Sarasvati music troupe. Secretary of the Trust Shri Jyotindra Dave welcomed the gathering on this memorable occasion. He conveyed his wishes and respect to Shri Jashiben mentioning centrality of children and education in her entire life.

In his inimitable style, Shri Upendra Patel conveyed wishes and respect on behalf of the trustees and members of governing council; his address interspersed with songs and poetry. Shri Truptiben Trivedi of Asarwa Vidyalay  and Shri Vanitaben Vachhani of J. N. Balika Vidyalay conveyed wishes on behalf of all principals and teachers of Vidyamandal respectively.  Wishes on behalf of the alumni association Sarasvati Nagarik Samaj was conveyed by alumnus of  Mandal and Deputy General Manager (Ret.) of Bank of India Shri Ganeshbhai Chauhan. Dr. Prashant Nayak wished Respected Jashiben on behalf of her family.

Replying to felicitations and wishes, Respected Jashiben recalled  early days of Sarasvati Vidyamandal.   She remembered invaluable support of leading Saraspur citizens, notably  Shri Vimalbhai Shah, Shri Amrutbhai Patel and Shri Navneetlal Sheth during those days of difficulties and struggle. She also acknowledged contribution of past  principals and teachers and other workers of Sarasvati  Vidyamandal  towards development and expansion of the institution.  She expressed her satisfaction with the efforts put in by   secretary, joint-secretary and principals of the schools for smooth running and development of the institution. She blessed Sarasvati Vidyamandal with a wish that  it  may flourish for a long time  without compromising its basic values.  Finally, Respected Jashiben thanked for the birthday celebrations and for centenary year celebrations planned in coming year.

Schools of Sarasvati Vidyamandal presented cultural events as a part of the program. More than 125 children enthusiastically participated in the events.

Joint-secretary of the Sarasvati Vidyamandal Shri Sajubha Zala proposed  vote of thanks at the end of the program. He specifically acknowledged and thanked an anonymous well-wisher who sponsored the “prasad” at the end of the program  with a donation of Rs. 50,000/- and Vidyamandal alumnus Shri Shreepal Patel who, with encouragements from Shri Amitaben Palkhivala, a member of  Gharshala editorial board   has sponsored 100 subscriptions of Gharshala with a donation of Rs. 15,000/-

Shri Zala also specifically  thanked alumni Shri Dilipsinh Solanki, Shri Kalpeshbhai Patel and Shri Manishbhai Patel for their untiring efforts to make the function a resounding success.
