Our Activities

The activities of Saraswati Vidya Mandal (SVM) are carried out in  three campuses, one at Saraspur and two at Asarwa in the city of Ahmedabad. The schools run by SVM cover all stages  of K-12 schooling including pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher secondary. For administrative convenience and to meet the government regulation requirements and also for historical reasons like complying with conditions set by donors, the educational activity is split among following seven entities.

1. Sheth Achartlal Harilal Saraswati Vidyalaya : Boy’s secondary and higher-secondary school (standard IX to XII ) at Saraspur
2. Shrimati Jasudben Nagindas Balika Vidyalaya: Girl’s Secondary and Higher-Secondary school (standard IX to XII ) at Saraspur
3. Asarwa Vidyalaya : Co-ed Secondary and Higher secondary school (standard IX to XII ) at Asarwa campus-1
4. Sarswati Kumarshala No-1 : Co-ed primary school at Saraspur (standard VI to VIII)
5. Sarswati Kumarshala No-2 : Co-ed primary school at Saraspur (standard. I to V)
6. BalBharti : Co-ed primary school at Asarwa Campus-2 (standard. I to VIII). This school is renamed as Shantikumar Kothari Vidyalay in honor of the donor for its new building
7. Balvihar : Pre-primary school at Asarwa campus and Saraspur

Total strength of students in these seven schools is approximately 5,000. Medium of instruction in all our schools is Gujarati, the mother tongue of local community. However, we make efforts to ensure that our students are proficient in English and also in Hindi.

In addition to the schools imparting formal education, the institution has established a unique art training center to inculcate love and passion for liberal- arts like painting, music and drama in the children from weaker sections of the society. It also supports Babasaheb Ambedkar University, Ahmedabad by making its computer education infrastructure available to the university to conduct classes as well as exam for its courses at diploma level.
